May FERN Performance Applications due April 9th
The third FERN Performance (Friday, May 21st at 7pm EDT on Zoom) will be curated by March FERN artist Makenna Finch, freeskewl teaching artist Nadia Issa, and freeskewl co-initiator Sofia Engelman.
Works can be 5-18 minutes in length, live or pre-recorded. Work can be in-progress or finished. Income from the evening will be split evenly six ways between the *five artists* and freeskewl.
Why an application? Because we may not know you yet!
Who? freeskewl will be accepting applications from innovative movement-based performing artists in all stages of career development. BIPOC, disabled artists, immigrants, queer and trans artists, femmes, young people, and “others” who are not well represented in the field are encouraged to apply; this does not mean that your application answers must center around these aspects of your identity. Please share what feels authentic to the proposed project.
To be considered, applications must be received by 11:59pm EDT on Friday, April 9th. Decisions will be sent by Monday, April 26th. Short notes of explanation will be emailed to any applicants who are not selected for the event. One application will be considered per project and per artist.
